Italian Municipal Police select Sepura

The Municipal Police Force of the city of Bologna in Italy has selected Sepura TETRA terminals for its secure communications requirements. This important win was achieved via the Riccione based company Eurocom Telecomunicazioni.

Bologna Municipal Police, the second Italian force to select Sepura radios, has chosen the mobile SRM2000 with GPS capability.

Sepura’s radios were chosen because of the benefits provided by the fully-integrated and ultra-sensitive GPS module, for the recognised reliability of the terminals, and in particular for the availability of the 450-470 MHz frequency bands.

Bologna Municipal Police believes the GPS option to be greatly beneficial as it allows the accurate location of officers, aiding the rapid and effective deployment of resources. The terminals will also be used for telephone communications and remote location.

Jens Thostrup, International Sales Director of Sepura said: “We are delighted to have received another order from the Italian Municipal Police. This is an important achievement for Sepura as it demonstrates that we are rapidly penetrating the Italian public safety and law enforcement market. We look forward to gaining other Police contracts, both in Italy and elsewhere in Europe.”
